Lectures
Since 2002, the work of BIMUN/SINUB e.V. also encompasses other fields of activities in addition to the organization of our annual conference. In cooperation with several partners, a weekly lecture series at Bonn University has been established by members of BIMUN/SINUB e.V. Under the overall title "The International Bonn", this lecture series takes place every semester.
The 2010 Lecture Series
The main focus of our lecture series is to inform the interested public and students of Bonn University about current issues of international concern. At the same time, we would like to provide deeper insight into the diverse international scenery in Bonn. Therefore, we offer a platform to international organizations that wish to actively raise public awareness, introduce themselves and their work and spark a public debate.
Connecting to this year’s conference 30 Years Right Livelihood Award CHANGING COURSE – RECLAIMING OUR FUTURE, taking place in September 2010 in Bonn, three award laureates are invited to present their work at the lecture series in the summer term. These lectures will thematically be accompanied by presentations of various organizations from Bonn to allow a diverse perspective on the respective approaches and to boost the public discussion in the “International Bonn”. The Right Livelihood Award, also known as the “Alternative Nobel Prize”, is awarded annually to outstanding and diverse scientists, activists and opinion leaders.
The lecture series will be held under the title:
– More diverse than the Nobel Prize? –
Laureates of the “Right Livelihood Award” present their work in science and society
Time: Wednesdays, 6.15 p.m. – 7.45 p.m., (during the summer term, starting on April 14, 2010)
